About Me

My photo
Since I got engaged I got the wedding bug. I love all things to do with weddings, they make me go all giddy inside. After my wedding I expected this to go away but it didn't. If I had the courage to change my career I would love to be a wedding planner. This blog serves to provide me with my wedding 'fix'. One night on our honeymoon my husband looked up into the dark sky and said to me "The sky's clear tonight. There are no stars." I looked up, following his gaze and replied "There's one. One star shining bright". He looked at it said "That's for us". (Yes, it is me in the black 'n' white profile photo)

Photo Wall

What do you do with all those photos that you want to put on display?

Buy some natural (not varnished) wooden photograph frames. I used the ones big enough to fit a 4"x6" photograph. I bought mine from Wilkinson's as they were the cheapest I could find. Paint each wooden frame with blackboard paint and leave to dry.

Print out your favourite photos. It works best if they are in black and white and either all portrait or landscape. Assemble the newly painted frames with your photos. Write the date that the photos were taken on each frame with chalk. Write the location too if you're well travelled. If you are displaying only your wedding photos you will only need to write the date on the frame in the middle. Alternatively have a photo of your Order of Service (with the date on) in the middle of all your other wedding photos.

Choose a wall that you are going to display your photos on. The hard bit is measuring and marking the wall so the photos are hung evenly spaced. I suggest starting in the middle and working out from there. The more photos you have to fill the wall, the better the effect. When you have hung the photos, a little blu-tac at the bottom will help to prevent them from moving from side to side.
